🌞Nags Head is excellent!❤️🐬🐬🐬Great service. Friendly people. Lighthouses were fantastic! OBX is very easy to navigate & beautiful! Great food everywhere! Experienced everything south, from Hatteras to an awesome Corolla beach drive(looking for the wild mustangs)!👍🏻
*lesson learned the hard way…must have 4wd to drive on the beach. Make sure to lower all tire pressures to 18 pounds & stay in the packed sand. Corolla City Park is little over a mile away to refill your tires. HAVE FUN!!!

Obx is wonderful! Manteo great town to explore off season.
Obx is wonderful! Manteo great town to explore off season. Can't say enough about this area. But it is better to visit off season months or it's extremely expensive. Booking.com needs to do much better on communication!!!!! Probably won't use again

What a fun visit! Fall at the beach is hit or miss.
What a fun visit! Fall at the beach is hit or miss. It was windy but not bad. We walked the beach, visited piers, shopped in quaint stores, ate in local restaurants & just enjoyed the area. Beautiful long weekend! Highly recommend looking at restaurants that are not chains—enjoy local specialties! Fish Heads and Sam & Omies were great! Get to Manteo & check out the history there too!

Nags Head and surrounding towns were typical beach attractions. Our visit was almost end of season, but shopping and restaurants were still open and staffed. We typically visit the Outer Banks NC at least once every other year, but try to visit off season in early Spring or Fall.
The Wright Brothers Museum is a great attraction, and since we travel with our pet dog found some excellent off leash dog parks.

I liked the beautiful beaches. Great local restaurants.
I liked the beautiful beaches. Great local restaurants. One in particular that is a must go to when vacationing is Tortuga's Lie, great Carribean food.
Best shop to shop for gifts is Parrot Bay-lots of beautiful things to buy. Many activities to see, in particular, Wright Brothers museum. Lighthouses-Bodie, Cape Hatteras, etc., are another must do!!
We chose Dolphin Oceanfront Motel for two reasons: very pet friendly and beachfront location. We expected to find less-than-average accommodations, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a very clean room with a small refrigerator and microwave. Granted, the room was small, but who hangs out in a room when at Nags Head, right? Our Irish setter gave the Dolphin four paws up! 🐾🐾 The staff was very nice, the motel was quiet. Other guests (many also had a pet or two) were very friendly.
Room was very clean. Breakfast was a joke!! Hot breakfast was not available until 8am and the continental earlier breakfast was terrible. Bananas were too ripe to eat, meager so-called bake goods were terrible. Very disappointed. Main problem was our room in the adjacent building had no elevator and my husband and I in our late 70’s had to work up 2 double flights of stairs. Hotel could not move us because they were full.
If you are expecting a big or semi fancy place, this isn't the place for you. It was perfect for us. It's small, quiet and clean and best of all, pet friendly which was our priority. Location rocks! Best pet friendly place we've been which is a plus. We really enjoyed our time here. It was our first, but will be our to go spot from now on.
The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and friendly.
The views front the balcony were beautiful. The pool was clean and refreshing. So close to the beach. The breakfast was amazing the best free break I’ve had in a hotel in a while. The staff even served it and was kind. Would definitely come back.
- next to beach
- view of beach from far
- quite clean
- everything you need there for a short stay
- comfortable bed
- parking lot available
- check in via Skype worked very well (late check in)
- soap dispenser (better than small toiletries which make lots of trash like in other hotels)
The room was big, had a sitting area, kitchenette, dinette, beautiful view, across the street from the beach and Jeanettes pier. Small convenience store across the street, easy parking, friendly, courteous staff and pet friendly. Rates are reasonable as is the pet fees.
The property was clean and the staff were amazing!! The private beach makes all the difference. Amanda and her staff made us feel welcome and like family. We will only stay at Surf Side Hotel when in Nags Head.
location is great, right on the beach. Room was spartan but was acceptable since we specifically chose this hotel because it allows pets. ice machine near housekeeping office was a pleasant and useful surprise
Breakfast was not included at the facility. Local breakfast establishment was right next door with very good breakfast options. Location of hotel was good. Could see ocean from our rooms.
I liked that it was oceanfront and I didn't have to walk a long distance to get to the beach. It is a smaller hotel not a huge resort. Beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.
