Affiliate Disclosure

To comply with FTC guidelines, we want our readers to be aware that we use affiliate marketing and can make a commission if you take an action on our website (subscribing, purchasing, etc). We are happy Amazon Associates and can earn a commission from your qualifying purchases on their site. We also use several other programs as well. This doesn’t add any extra cost to you, the reader, but helps us keep our website running.

How do affiliate links work?

Many of our links to outside companies are called affiliate links. They contain a special tracking code so that the company knows you came from Bold Tourist. The price of the item or service is the same, whether you originated from our website or not. However, the tracking code will earn us a small commission on your purchase.

Occasionally we may team up with a company that offers a unique coupon code that will actually save you money, while still giving us a small commission (usually $1-$2 per purchase). We love when this happens, because who doesn’t love helping people save money?

Our stance on affiliate links

We appreciate the opportunity to earn a small amount of money- traveling is our favorite pasttime, and this website is run to share things we’ve learned with prospective tourists. We don’t have the opportunity to quit our jobs and run Bold Tourist fulltime (that would be the dream!) so earning a little extra cash is helpful to keep the passion alive!

That said, we will never “sell out” and fill the website with links soley for the chance to make more money. Every product with an affiliate link has been personally used, and we will only ever recommend products that we stand behind. If you do happen to purchase a product we recommend, we’d love to hear your opinion!

Feel free to shoot us a message if you have more questions about our affiliate policy!
